A number of product sectors are sensitive.  Any export in one of these product sectors requires special care.

Munitions

The sale and exportation of munitions, and materials that can be used to make munitions, is subject to control.

High-Tech Goods

Any high technology good is subject to control, and certain goods with only peaceful applications, can still be subject to control.  Encryption software, for example, falls under precautions for high technology goods.

Nuclear

The sale and exportation of any equipment or material used in the production of any nuclear or atomic device is subject to control.   This provision can also cover duel use goods which can be used both in nuclear or atomic devices and in non-regulated technology.

Information

Information which is deemed sensitive can be subject to export control.  Providing such information to a foreign national within the U.S. can be considered to be an export.
