OTHER AGENCY RULES

The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforces the rules and regulations of more than 40 federal agencies. 

Food and Drug Administration | Federal Trade Commission | Consumer Products Safety Commission | Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives | Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The CBP enforces Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules relating to the health and safety of the food supply, including the Bioterrorism Act, phyto-sanitary measures and also consumer-related measures such as ingredient and nutrition labeling.

Federal Trade Commission( FTC)

CBP enforces FTC rules and regulations relating to consumer protection.  This includes rules relating to fiber content and care labeling for apparel, origin marking and certain other claims.

Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC)

CBP enforces CPSC rules and regulations relating to the health and safety of consumer products.  This includes, but is not limited to, rules involving childrens toys.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE)

CBP enforces BATFE rules and regulations controlling the sale and distribution of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives. 

Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (ATTB)

CBP collects at the time of entry the various excise taxes imposed by the ATTB on tobacco and alcohol.
