David A. Riggle is the Managing Partner and concentrates his practice in doing business in Asia. He is experienced in helping clients explore opportunities in China, Japan and Korea to stay competitive in the global economy. Having focused his practice exclusively on International Trade and Customs law, he is fluent in dealing with the nuances of the numerous federal governmental agencies responsible for administering U.S. trade and tariff law.

Mr. Riggle derived his global competence from valuable lessons learned in executing a multitude of projects in the past. His effectiveness is the result of the seasoned relationships he has developed with many senior governmental officials as well as International organizations and trade associations. He has a comprehensive knowledge for how business gets done Internationally, both informally and formally, by law and by custom. Mr. Riggle is a valuable resource for any company contemplating global transactions. He has concentrated his practice in the fields of Customs law, International trade transactions, Export and import regulations, Antidumping, and related matters since 1979.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana Mr. Riggle holds a a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law, was an undergraduate in Asian studies at the State University of New York at New Paltz, and a graduate at the Center for Japanese Studies of the Rackham Graduate School of the University of Michigan. He has also served with the United States Army.

He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Michigan as well as before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh and Federal Circuits, the United States Court of International Trade, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Riggle is a member of the Chicago, Illinois, Michigan and American Bar Associations. He has had experience in virtually every aspect of International trade and Customs matters, and has individually received an a-v rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Riggle holds a private pilot’s license and flies light aircraft as a recreational activity.
